Hello Sushane,

I got your flier and check out your website. It is great with all the
relevant information about the subject. I will visit it again and read more
and even encourage others to check it out.

I want to find out more about it because I am one of the minority, according
to the polls, who oppose stem cell research. I am also a liberal which makes
me an even smaller minority. My reasons for opposing stem cell research and
use of stem cells are 1) we have far more simpler issues that humankind
struggles with that we are not able to address, so going for more advanced
research is a big question for me. 2) we have not brought the wonders of
modern technology and advancement to a majority of the 6.3 billion of
humanity on earth. 3) advanced technology and its products remain available
to the very wealthy while average and even well to do cannot afford it, let
alone the poor. 4) such research is also funded by government grants which
come from taxes collected from average people also, while they don't get the
benefits. Today we have far more knowledge and advancement about science
than what we are able to handle. It has not helped humanity at large -
most/all advanced research and technology is benefiting fewer and fewer and
leaving behind more and more. Many people who are well off like you and me
don't see the pain and suffering of the people who are left behind and think
that the world is doing so well. This is just my humble opinion.

Some of what I have written above you may not understand - please ask with
your parents and teachers about it. I thought I should write because you may
be embarking upon a technology that has immense global impact on humanity
and our planet.

Don't let my opinion against stem cell research discourage you. I am in the
minority as your polls show.

I hope you do become a renowned stem cell research scientist and when you do
please don't forget to put it to use ethically and more for people rather
than only for profit.

I took the time to write because you children are the future of humanity and
our planet. Oldies like me :-) have all lived our lives and are ready to
hand over the world in your capable hands.
